“Your net worth never exceeds your self-worth so your best investment is personal development” – Robin Sharma
3 ways to invest in personal development:
- Read. There are so many good books. I just invested in the following: Man’s Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl and The 5 Levels of Leadership by John C. Maxwell
My top 3 personal development authors are Robin Sharma, Brian Tracy and Swami Rama
Have a favorite book or author? Please leave a comment with the details. - Take courses. From webinars to retreats there is a workshop for everyone and every interest.
- Take time for recreation, as in re-creation. Don’t wait until you get overwhelmed. Make the time to recharge. We all have our unique ways of nurturing ourselves. Choose your ideal way and make it a priority.
We fully agree and pratice your 3 recommendations in seeking quality of life….
One of our favorite inspiring authors is Thich Nhat Hanh….in his book The Art of Power he describes the five spiritual powers:
- The Power of Faith
- The Power of Diligence
- The Power of Mindfulness
- The Power of Concentration
- The Power of Insight
This is an excellent read…..
Man’s Search For Meaning is a powerful book. I read it over 10 years ago and I can still vividly remember the way I felt reading that book.
Regarding favorite authors, one of mine is the late Jim Rohn. I still quote wisdom today I learned from him.
Regarding your 2nd point about taking courses and such, you might be interested to check out GrowthNotes.com. It is a personal development system I’ve been working on for years. It’s got a little bit of everything. Where it really excels is in providing a daily process to follow. I have found that a lot of personal development wisdom stays with us for a few days and then fades away. My goal with GrowthNotes.com was to provide a daily routine that would continually reinforce intentions and help us stay focused on what matters most. If you end up giving it a try, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Here is a code that will grant you 6 months free: 6526-53-5744.
I like John Maxwell also but I have not read The 5 Levels of Leadership. It’s going on the reading list. Many thanks!
